Boost Your Business Visually with Must Know Hidden Secrets
Hello readers,
I wish you are safe and healthy in this Corona
crisis. It’s my immense pleasure to share a very interesting explanation on the
new topic “Boost Your Business Visually with
Must-Know Hidden Secrets” today.
All you know that communication is the key to a
better connection. In any business domain, Visual Communication is the pillar
of success by strengthening marketing and advertising. It has the power to express
the success story of any business.
But before I dig in more, let me educate you about
“What is Communication?”
Communication is the state
of exchange when someone’s idea or thoughts conveyed to others as it is. This
is also known as effective communication. For perfect communication, verbal
language is not mandatory.
What Is Visual Communication?
Visual Communication is not a new concept rather
it was in practice for thousands of years. From Cavemen to the present phase of
digital technology. Visual Communication is passing on information with
the help of visible mediums like text, images, and symbols. Usages of photos, videos,
maps, charts, posters, signs, typography, drawing, graphical design,
illustration, industrial design, advertising, animation, and electronic
resources are all different ways of visual communication. There are seven elements
of visual communication: Color, Shape, Tones, Texture, Figure-Ground, Balance,
and Hierarchy. Visual Communication is based on the adopting power of your
audiences and not on personal preferences. Any information expressed visually
left a more powerful impact on the viewer’s mind and thus this became one of
the best modes of communication.
From the above signage, we can easily interpret
the message and act accordingly. Human minds are capable enough to decode them
at a very fast rate.
I would also like to quote few names here who
believed to play a prominent role in the development of the modern way of
Visual communication. Aldous Huxley
is known as one of the most notable discoverers of Visual Communication and Sight-related
theories. He became almost blind at a young age due to an ailment that made him
one of the most conceptual people to have ever explored visual communication. He
believed in the theory of "The more you see, the more you know." His most
famous works were Brave New World and The Art of Seeing. In his words, "seeing"
is the sum of sensing, selecting, and perceiving.
The father of Gestalt psychology Max Wertheimer. Gestalt i.e. form
or shape and Gestalt theory is a hypothesis that explains that people tend to
recognize visual elements into groups or unified wholes when certain principles
are applied. According to this theory, the whole is different from the sum of
its part. Gestalt psychology laid the foundation for the modern study of
perception. This study of Gestalt psychology shows emphasis on simplicity.
Gestalt tries to explain the ways by which our mind translates the visual
elements. General rules of the Gestalt principle are
- Objects
are recognized in the basic form.
- Peoples
obviously, go along with lines or curves.
- The brain will try to fill in the attributes that are missing.
To make it simpler please allow me to share a few live
examples of the above theories.
1. Logo designs: You can see an arrow starting from
A and ending at Z which depicts that Amazon has everything from A to Z in the
Amazon logo.
2. Google Maps: Whenever you choose a destination
on Google Maps, it displays the path from start to end. We need to follow the displayed
direction to reach the destination.
3. Incomplete Logos and Designs: When you view the WWF logo, there exists some unfilled gap in the image of a panda, and it is because the panda has white fur. Still, we are able to complete the shape of the panda subconsciously by filling those gaps.
There exist several such examples. One such informational site is https://studiousguy.com/real-life-examples-gestalt-principles/.
What are the advantages of Visual Communication?
Related words are necessary but they are boring
and tiring to read through. Even listening to someone requires you to imagine the
information as a whole, especially if there are numbers involved.
Suppose, I have a report about company sales
numbers and I verbally convey all of them. These details are very useful to
compare the sales trend but would be very difficult to remember the entire
information.
The benefit of visual communication is to make
this easier for the target audiences. They only have to observe and conclude
the whole picture.
Any information expressed visually is easier to
perceive for a human brain. Visual communication using color codes makes the
information more attractive to look at.
Types of Visual
Communication: Following are few basic types of visual communication:
- GIF
- GIFs are a useful tool to quickly engage (or re-engage) the audiences with an
added humor to lighten the tone of the presentation.
- Animation - Animated videos capture the viewer’s attention quickly and effectively than an image. Also, animation can make complex ideas simple.
- Whiteboard Animation - Whiteboard animation is very popular and a great medium for presenting videos that describe a product, process, or point of view.
- Screen Recording – If you want to guide someone, a screen recording is the best way to explain to the audiences how to do it, what they need to do, and how to traverse around any unfamiliar platform or UI.
- Images – A very old saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words”. The simplest way to visualize your ideas.
- Infographics - Infographics are the tool to convert complex information to an easy-to-digest very impactfully. Charts and graphs are much simpler than words.
- Data Visualization - Data visualization leads infographics to the next level. It helps to create relationships between variables with large data sets. Powtoon is one of the best tools for Data Visualization.
- Face-to-camera video - Stepping in front of the camera builds trust and confidence, humanizes your product, and puts a face to your name. Mostly used by vloggers, reviewers, executives, and educators.
Visual communication is more powerful when more
than one of these strategies are combined. E.g. A screen recording with a face-to-face
camera gives the audiences the human connection behind the training video. The
more you combine the more effective the Visual communication would be.
The chances are unlimited for combining visual
communication into your marketing initiatives, white-collar presentations, induction
and training modules, or teaching procedures.
Why Visual
Communication?
Effective visual communication is the key to
every successful business. In this digital world, it’s more important that your
communication stands out from the rest. Using an easy-to-use Visual
Communication platform in business is mandatory now a day for success
irrespective of your target audiences. They may be customers, employees,
business partners, or recruits.
It is almost impossible to convince the target
audiences with words only. Visual communication offers better clarity to your
viewer. Videos are very effective and engaging tool than text or images. Hence,
using a professional visual communication platform helps promote your message
in the world that showers users with a towering amount of content.
The importance of
visual communication:

overall brand statistics – One
of the best and most impactful tools of combining marketing and sales. Businesses
highlight their products' benefits, features, specifications, and functionality
which leads to brand authenticity and trust to customers about a brand.
Conveys
a brand essence at a double - “A picture is worth a thousand words.” With the help
of an image only, the message flows very faster to your target viewers resulting
in more engagement. And more engagement, boost higher returns.
Encourage better holding of a brand – As we know, visuals or images may be retained for a longer period in memory. So, the use of visuals in marketing empowers the viewers to retain them longer.
Helps
in decision making - Visual
communication recommends a quick and effective mode of the decision-making process
in business. Because of the quick and easy transformation of the message the
quicker and accurate decisions about the company product you will take. A
visual to display products are self-explanatory.
Conclusion:

that uses visual ingredients to communicate ideas and thoughts to the target
audiences. This world is growing very fast and super competitive when any
business is involved. So visual communication became a demand to exceed in the
race and move ahead. Visual communication speaks deeper than words about a brand.
